i'm here!! tis morning woke up at 6am!! my mum woke mi up cux we're goin to my bro's graduation ceremony... and of cux, i am the first one to bath and get prepared, ate my breakfast... follwed by my bro who is next to woke up... after getting all ready at about 7.30am, i looked at the invitation card. It stated the starting time of the ceremony starts at 9.30am!! !#$%^&* cux my bro hav to reached there by 8.30am so we go together.. took cab and reached there ard 8.15am.. i went walked ard wif my mum and when it is abt 9am, we walked to TCC (Temasek Convention Centre) and when we're abt to enter, the man at the entrance told us it was fully packed!! i was so TL!! they asked us to RSVP before 2 May and we did! now telling all of us that the auditorium was fully packed!! WTH!! if they have asked parents to RSVP all the more they shld be prepared to cater enough seats for the parents. tis is very bad planning! they are just asking ppl to RSVP because they want to make sure the auditorium is not too empty, otherwise, it will not look good in front of the guest-of-honour. and they shld not have all the courses from School of IT to be presented the awards together! i have calculated , the total number of graduands for the first session is 661 and if only 600 graduands's parents were to RSVP the total number of seats required will be 1200 (1 graduand given 2 invitation cards) and plus the graduands of 600, the total seats of graduands & parents required is 1800. My graduation ceremony last time was a smooth one.. there were enen some empty seats in the Auditorium.. i asked the man how many seats are there in the Auditorium that my graduation held, it was only 200 seats. However, tis TCC have 1000 seats. BUT, SO WHAT?? According to my calculation, there shld have at least a 2000 seats available including the VIP and some other guests-of-honour... All the parents came here happily to see their Son / Daughter to graduate from Poly and finally the dae came and THERE ARE NO SEATS FOR PARENTS! some parents even took leave specially for tis occasion.. thou tis is not a University graduation, but to some, this might be the last chance for them to study! we were told to proceed to the LT to view the ceremony 'Live' via projection.. i was even PISSED! reached there and in the end can only watched the projection! might as well we dun bother to come! even the LT is fully packed!! so what abt the rest of the parents who can neither go anywhere? the sound system in the LT was so bad! we cant heard initially but luckily someone bother to tune the volume higher.. almost to the end of the ceremony, we were only given a bottled of mineral water and the graduation booklet... many of the parents in the LT was so angry and everyone complained... towards the end, when me & my mum were about to go to the washroom, one of the lecturer told us tat there is a special arrangement for us, Parents in the LT... to have a chance to take the photo wif their child inside the Auditorium.. den i asked if we are able to get the photo? the photographer said 'can'... but how do they send or give us the photos?? none of us get our contact details or even my bro's name! is this just showing tat they care? it is just a technique to pacify the parents in the LT so as not to complain! i overheard one of the staff talking to one of the parent tat they did not expect the turn-up wld b a hiccup.. i think they shld foresee tis happening... last year, they have only 3 IT courses in one session graduatin but tis year, they have 3 new courses in tis session... so they shld even foresee double the number of attendees!! so wat even we have RSVP? can someone clarify for me wat does RSVP stands for??
anyway, took some pictures for my bro... i shall dl later... gotta rush for tuition...
